Description

Learn how to create a distinctive network of lines on fabric through the beautiful crackle effects made by wax in batik. This class explores different techniques for achieving these fine decorative lines and using multiple colors in the dyeing process to create rich, artistic designs. Participants will also learn proper methods for removing the wax (dewaxing) to reveal their finished fabric pieces.

Materials supplied

The subsidized fee includes the use of tools, dye supplies, and stencils. Each participant will be provided with one meter of cotton. Participants will keep their finished projects. An experienced instructor will guide each step of the process. You get to keep your finished project. Refreshments will be provided.

Duration: 4 hours (10am -2pm)

Eligibility: Open to all adults and children ages 8and above.
