About this workshop
Àdìre alábééla is a contemporary Yorùbá batik technique. This introductory course teaches participants how to create a simple one-colour batik design using traditional wax-resist methods. Students will learn the basic processes of sketching patterns, applying hot wax to fabric, and dyeing with a single colour to produce bold, elegant designs. By the end of the course, each participant will complete their own unique batik piece to take home.
